Victoria Beckham wanted her kids to be at David Beckham's surprise 40th holiday.

The A-list couple were joined by their showbiz friends and family at the weekend, for a birthday trip to Morocco to celebrate David's special day.

The likes of Eva Longoria, Emma Bunton and Gordon Ramsay were all in town for the party, which was organised by Victoria.

"It was her surprise and a present to David," a source told British magazine Grazia. "It's one of David's favourite places and it's very special for them both. They wanted the kids to be there too - they were key to Victoria's plans."

David posted a series of snaps from the party to his new Instagram page, including a cute picture of his daughter Harper, three, helping him to recover the morning after the night before.

Things couldn't be better for the Beckham family at the moment. Since retiring from soccer and moving back to the UK, David has been able to spend more time with his brood, which also includes sons Brooklyn, 16, Romeo, 12 and ten-year-old Cruz.

"He's in a great stage of his life - he and the family are incredibly happy. David takes the kids to and from school when he's in London and he makes a point of not working during school holidays.

"He's determined his business will be a success. He's building a football club from scratch and genuinely wants to leave a legacy," the source added of his plans to open the first major league soccer team in Miami.

His career attention isn't only focused on Miami though; David's never been busier with work and his collaborations with H&M, drinks company Diageo and his fragrance line are making him a small fortune.

"He's earning more than ever. But he's also got more control over collaborations than in the past - he's working as a creative director now," the insider noted.
