Usher loves “reconnecting" with fans on tour.

The American singer is celebrating 20 years of topping music charts but recently announced the release of his eighth studio album, UR, had been put on hold.

Instead, he’s focused on putting on a memorable show for his ongoing UR Experience Tour.

And the R&B crooner believes he’s made the right move in shifting focus, because his fans mean “more than anything”.

“Now on the eve of the end of this year and eve of the making of my new moment I decided not to finish my album and put it out, and to go out on tour and reconnect with fans,” he told MTV News.

“And that to me was more important, and not being about the focus on the album… to me that’s what matters more than anything.”

Usher has promised an entertaining show for fans young and old.

“It feels new for fans who don’t know the older records,” he explained. “And it feels new for the older fans who are not as acclimated to the more recent records.”

The star has, however, released two singles from UR, including a track he cut with Nicki Minaj called She Came to Give It to You.

He shared the news back in September the LP would be postponed indefinitely.

"The album isn't scheduled anymore. I've basically taken it back. I'm taking my time with it," he told Billboard. "At the end of the day, all of this is just about having fun. You get in the studio [and] go with how you feel."

The 28-date UR Experience Tour continues through Canada and the US, wrapping in Tampa, Florida December 14.
