Meghan Trainor was on Tinder for “a hot week”.
The All About That Bass singer has regularly spoken about her quest to find love. And during a chat at the Shazam Top 20 studios, she revealed she had tried the popular dating app without much success.
“Tinder. I was on that for a hot week when I wasn’t famous and then I got these dudes hitting me up,” she recalled. “This one kid said, ’Do you wanna hook up in my mom’s car?’ And I was like, ‘Not really.'”
The 21-year-old isn’t the only female celebrity to have spoken publicly about using the application. Former Lizzie McGuire star Hilary Duff is also on it, and is reportedly filming her dates for a potential reality show.
Meghan is fully aware of the 27-year-old’s exploits as the pair have been in each other's company before.
“That’s my girl. I recently met her,” she said. “She’s the coolest person ever.”
Despite becoming famous since her Tinder experience, Meghan is still seeking her soul mate. However she recently revealed that a perfect date doesn’t need to be fancy to impress her.
“Coolest date I’ve ever been on: The guy set up a night of bowling. We didn’t have bumpers, so I had to pick up my game. He won. He didn’t even try to be polite and let the girl win. But I got a strike and he didn’t, so I felt like I won, you know?” she laughed to the US edition of Marie Claire magazine.
Earlier this year rumours circulated that Meghan was dating Nick Jonas’ assistant Cory Andersen but she was quick to refute the claims. During a chat with Seventeen magazine she confessed that she hadn’t kissed a boy in “forever” but she hoped that her patience would pay off in the long term.
“I keep telling myself that the right guy is going to be worth the wait,” she said. “When I find the one, it's going to be like, 'Damn, that's why you took so long! 'Cause you're awesome!'"
