Tom Waits performs 'Little Red Rooster' with Rolling Stones

Tom Waits was the special guest on the seventh Rolling Stones 50 and Counting show in Oakland, California on Sunday night.

Waits joined the Stones for their classic Willie Dixon cover ‘Little Red Rooster’. “Tom Waits! Thank you very much Tom! What about that!,” Mick Jagger said at the end of the song.

The Oakland African America Gay Choir joined the band for ‘All Down The Line’. “Thank you! Thank you very much! Are you feeling good? Are you ready!,” Jagger said introducing the Choir.

The show featured the second live performance of ‘Emotional Rescue’ after the Stones premiered the 1980 song on stage for the time ever in Los Angeles last Friday.

It’s good to see that no matter how much the Stones shake up their setlist Keith Richards does the same line ever single night. Keith is always allocated two songs midway through the show to sing lead vocals on. Every night for decades the songs have the same intro no matter what they are and tonight was not an exception. “It’s great to be back. It’s great to be anywhere! How you doing alright? On with the show. It’s good to see you all again,” Keith said launching into ‘Before They Make Me Run’ and ‘Happy’.
