Around 100 children from the municipality of Baerum on Tuesday welcomed the Maltese Eurovision representative Thea Garrett in their school. Thea was greeted by banners with words of 'Merhba', 'Malta' and 'Thea'.
The municipality of Baerum is organising the 55th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo. In fact the Telenor Arena which is hosting this year's event is in Baerum and each of the 40 schools in the municipality have been assigned with a participating country. Hammerbakken School welcomed the Maltese participant.

The school has 104 students aged between 6 and 10 years. The Maltese delegation was welcomed by the school headmaster Finn Johannsen and Anne Lene Hojem the Minister in the municipality of Baerum responsible for education.

During the school event, the students gave a show by singing some songs while 2 other children made a presentation about Malta in which they emphasised the history, culture and touristic locations of the island.

Thea performed her Eurovision entry “My Dream”, accompanied by the 'seagull' Jes Sciberras as well as her backing vocalists Pamela, Nadine and Jacqueline.

Following her performance, Thea presented each student and the teachers with her CD, t-shirts and postcards.

On Wednesday Thea was interviewed by the Finish National TV and also met the Finnish contestants, duo Kuunkuiskaajat. On Wednesday evening she was invited for a reception at the Serbian embassy.

Another rehearsal for Thea Garrett is planned for Thursday afternoon on the stage of the Telenor Arena.
