The Game, Diddy and Rick Ross are part of an all-star collaboration addressing racial violence in the US.
Don’t Shoot brought together ten rappers and four R&B artists, including 2 Chainz, Fabolous, Wale, DJ Khaled, Swizz Beatz, Yo Gotti, Curren$y, Problem, King Pharaoh and R&B group TGT, which includes Tyrese, Ginuwine and Tank - in addition to the trio.
The collaboration follows the fatal August 9 shooting of unarmed teenager Michael Brown by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri.
The incident “hit home” for The Game who was “compelled” to respond through his music.
"I managed to get everyone on board fairly easy, simply because we have the hearts (sic),” he told Rolling Stone.
"We care and are inclined to take a positive approach to resolving an issue that has existed since the beginning of mankind and that is racism and hatred towards one another as human beings.”
The Game, real name, Jayceon Terrell Taylor, empathises greatly with the family of the late teenager.
As a father himself, the rapper said he “cannot fathom” such a tragedy happening to his own children, and hopes the stars’ musical offering can lend some help to the modern day civil rights movement.
“This possibility has shaken me to my core. That is why this song must be made and why it was so easy for so many of my friends to come together and unite against the injustice,” he explained.
The six-minute track Don’t Shoot was released on Wednesday.
The Game went to his Instagram account to spread the message shortly thereafter.
