French/Finnish duo The Dø release ‘Too Insistent’ on October 31st through Village Green. ‘Too Insistent’ is the lead single from The Dø’s breathtaking new album ‘Both Ways Open Jaws’, out November 14th.

Written and produced by The Dø – Dan Levy and Olivia B Merilahti – ‘Too Insistent’ is an exhilarating guitar-led track, peppered with delicate hues. Singer Olivia leaps from octave to octave in her sprightly soprano tones, flashes of falsetto bring to mind Joni Mitchell, as strings and horns creep into the second chorus, a rich, sonic tapestry evolves.

‘Too Insistent’ is the lead single from The Dø’s insanely brilliant new album, ‘Both Ways Open Jaws’, out November 14th on Village Green. Written and produced by Dan and Olivia, with multi-instrumentalist Dan taking turns on sax, piano, harpsichord and trumpet to name but a few, it is a brave 13-track LP, stubbornly like no other.

“We're looking for the diversity and richness of sound, surprises in the details, orchestral colours,” says Dan, on the band’s creative vision. “It certainly comes from our culture of classical music, our love of contemporary music, and of musicians like Charlie Mingus; the types of music that follow no map.”

Currently residing in Paris, ‘Both Ways Open Jaws’ will see The Dø cement themselves as foremost purveyors of bewitching, propulsive melodies.
