The Motor City Madman, Ted Nugent, may be the most visible member of his band, but he isn't the only wild one.
On Sunday, Nugent played with Styx and REO Speedwagon in Bangor, Maine. Shortly before 10 PM, police were alerted to the fact that a golf cart used by the venue had been taken and someone was driving around the Front Street area of the city.
That person turned out to be Nugent's drummer, Mick Brown (55) who, on top of taking the cart, was also intoxicated. Officers tried to stop Brown a number of times as he sped around town to no avail. At one point, he shoved an officer away who was trying to stop the cart.
Eventually, Brown was wrestled from the vehicle and he was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence, driving to endanger, assault and theft. He will next appear in court on August 15 after being released on $4,000 bail.
Meanwhile, Nugent got himself embroiled in another political controversy after writing on op-ed for the Washington Times in which he said "Because our legislative, judicial and executive branches of government hold the 10th Amendment in contempt, I’m beginning to wonder if it would have been best had the South won the Civil War. Our Founding Fathers’ concept of limited government is dead."
Ted was the subject of much political discussion earlier in the spring after making inflammatory comments about the President.
