Taylor Momsen doesn’t miss starring on Gossip Girl.

The 21-year-old entertainer found fame after playing Jenny Humphrey in the hit television show, which also starred Blake Lively and Leighton Meester.

Taylor now fronts rock band The Pretty Reckless and she has no regrets about ditching her small screen career.

“No, not at all,” Taylor replied when asked by Entertainment Weekly magazine if she missed being a television star. “I quit because I finally could just tour in a band, and I got to a place in my life when I had the luxury of doing that. And a lot of people thought I couldn’t. I think when I quit acting, everyone thought I was crazy, and now it’s three number ones later, so they were wrong.”

While Taylor only made her move into music in 2009, her love of songwriting was nurtured from a very young age.

And despite being a successful singer these days, Taylor still relishes the process of putting pen to paper and coming up with a heartfelt track.

“Ever since I was a little kid, I was always singing and jotting down songs and making up things,” she said. “You write a lot of bad songs before you write good ones. I had to wait until I got a little older till I actually wrote a record’s worth of material that I wanted the world to hear. But, no, I started very, very early. It was like therapy to me. Still is.”

As well as singing and acting, multi-talented Taylor is also a successful model.

And the pretty young star admits she also has a few more strings to her bow.

“I paint and sculpt when I’m home, but I don’t really think I’m good at it,” she said. “It’s like another form of therapy.”
