Lily Allen is one of many stars to take to Twitter to cheer on the Olympic athletes.

The singer shared her excitement about British sports star Tom Daley’s big day on the social networking site as she prepared to watch the diver compete in the London Games.

Lily - who is currently pregnant - even tweeted a picture to show off her Olympic manicure, which featured the Olympic rings and a British flag.

“Monday morning sickness #sport #lympix #london2012,” she captioned the photo which was added to her earlier tweets. “It's Tom Daley Day!!!! Go on TOM. And Pete, and all the other Team GB athletes competing (sic).”

One Direction star Zayn Malik also showed his support for the 18-year-old diver, who is hoping to win gold with his partner Peter Waterfield. The teenage heartthrob, who is of Pakistani origin, said the aquatic star’s talent made him think about which country to support.

“Tom Daley makes me reconsider on whether to go for my own country in the freaking Olympics (sic),” he wrote.

Spice Girl star Mel C has also been enthusiastic about the 2012 Games.

The singer went to watch the women’s gymnastics yesterday and was looking forward to more sporting excitement this morning.

With the group reportedly set to perform at the Olympic Closing Ceremony on 12 August, the songstress has been well and truly getting into the spirit.

“I wonder what the #olympics have in store for us today #GoTeamGB x (sic),” she tweeted.
