Nobody knew if the Soundgarden reunion when "take hold" but it certainly looks like it has. Two years on, it is growing strong and Chris Cornell has told Billboard that its very likely to include more new music in the future.
Cornell told the magazine "I don't see any reason why not. I think the overall attitude about keeping it going and the way we want to treat it to keep it going is really good. There's nothing stopping us from continuing to make records and continuing to play shows, that's for sure."
He added "There hasn't really been any of the tension, specifically surrounding peripheral stuff. And I think that's as simple as us making the conscious decision to not be influenced by anything other than what the four of us want to do and not putting a business version of a timeline on it. Our attitude is that we're doing this because we love it and because it matters to us and not for any other reason, and everything else kind of takes care of itself."
Soundgarden was originally together from 1984 to 1997 when they broke up over differences on their creative direction. On January 1, 2012, Chris Cornell hinted that the 12-year break was over and they began recording a new album in February 2011. On September 27 of last year, King Animal was released with a tour in support of the LP following.
