Lionel Messi of FC Barcelona is putting together an Oasis cover band and plans to take the show around Europe.

The Argentinian-born 23 year old will play the part of Noel Gallagher, while one of Messi’s team mates, whose identity is yet to be disclosed, will be playing the role of front man Liam, according to The Sun.

“Our disguise is based on how Oasis looked in the mid-'90s,” he told the paper. “We have our wigs, clothes and glasses sorted. I also spent a lot of time getting the mannerisms right.”

The band doesn’t have the original band to contend with anymore, but Liam Gallagher’s new band Beady Eye is apparently (according to Liam) going to be “bigger than Oasis”, according to an interview with the Sunday Times, so Messi had better not screw up.
