Slash says touring is “conducive” to “having [his] juices flow” when it comes to penning tracks.

The musician is famed for being the former lead guitarist of the American rock band Guns N’ Roses, but has since gone on to release his eponymous debut solo album in 2010.

Slash – real name Saul Hudson – is currently working on his second solo offering, which is a collaboration with his touring band mates Myles Kennedy, Todd Kerns, and Brent Fitz.

The rockstar loves being creative while he’s touring.

“I’d be in my room or on the bus and I’d be writing all the time. Being on the road is conducive to having your juices flow. [The songs] came out in a rush!” he laughed in an interview with Kerrang! magazine.

Slash worked with a number of big names on his last solo record, including Ozzy Osbourne, Fergie and Adam Levine.

He has enjoyed collaborating with singer-and-guitarist Myles on his current album.

“It makes such a huge difference having Myles sing everything,” he explained. “The last record was unique with all those different singers. The writing process this time was different. I eventually began to write just for Myles.

“He looks at things from a different perspective to the average singer, because he’s also a guitarist. It’s nice working with somebody who is committed all the time.”
