Blake Shelton says he is a “natural at making an a*s” of himself.

The country singer is set to host iconic comedy show Saturday Night Live at the weekend. And while being in charge is a big responsibility, the 38-year-old feels like he is perfectly equipped for the role.

“I'm not really nervous," Blake insisted in an promotional clip. "I'm a natural at making an a*s out of myself. If that's what this show requires of me, I think I'm gonna nail it."

The Voice USA coach is following in a long line of country singers to take on the hosting duties including Garth Brooks, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton.

Blake added that when his family found out about his new role, they had some special requests although they were slightly out of date.

“[My mom] wanted me to tell Chevy Chase hi, and my sister wanted me to get Dana Carvey's autograph," he quipped about former cast members from yesteryear. "So it shows you just how out of touch my family is."

While Blake isn’t concerned about his weekend appearance, his wife and fellow country singer Miranda Lambert is.

The 31-year-old won’t be at the studio with her spouse as she has a gig, but for Blake it’s maybe a blessing in disguise.

“Miranda's always the one when we're at parties or something and I'm being funny and I start taking it too far into gross land or whatever, she's the one that's always like, 'Blake! Blake, stop it," he previously told E! News.
