Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber “have nothing going on romantically”.
The pair sparked rumours that they may have rekindled their relationship when a picture emerged of them spending time together over the weekend.
But despite the images, a source close to the actress has insisted that they are simply friends.
"She has no interest [in dating him]," a source close to Selena told People.com. "There's nothing going on with them romantically at all."
Despite that, Selena and Justin are still close – but just in a platonic manner.
And the former couple, who dated on and off for four years, will continue to be in each other’s lives going forward.
“They are completely friendly and check in every now and then," the source added. "That's probably the first time they'd seen each other in a while."
Both Selena and Justin have been romantically linked to other stars in recent months, with the stunning brunette most recently rumoured to be dating Cody Simpson.
However, the pair have both insisted they are single.
Justin opened up about his relationship status in a new chat with Interview magazine. He admitted that he has been using his single status to inspire his new music.
“People will be able to really get into where my heart is," Justin said. "It's about my journey in life – stuff that I've been through. Maybe I can teach a lesson, certain things that are inspiring."
As he was interviewed by Martha Stewart for the publication, the former television chef said she believes the in depth conversation will inspire more girls to set their hearts on a romance with Bieber.
“I'm a pretty lucky guy,” Justin acknowledged.
