Scouting For Girls have unveiled the brilliant new video for their single Life’s Too Short, watch on YouTube here. Life’s Too Short - available to download and stream now - has a joyous, optimistic bounce that is classic Scouting For Girls.
“People have said it’s like old Scouting For Girls, or the best bits of our old songs rolled into one. The best of everything we’ve done before,” says the band’s frontman Roy Stride. “I love that!”
Life’s Too Short is the first to be take from the million-selling trio’s new album Still Thinking About You, released October 16th on East West Records and available to pre-order from iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, Amazon (signed). A return to the immaculate indie pop of their triple-platinum debut album but with a more natural, fresher sound, Still Thinking About You is the west London band’s first album of new material since 2012 and their first for new label East West Records.
The band wrote, recorded and produced Still Thinking About You themselves, on their terms, on their own expense, at their own pace. “It was a really unforced, natural process,” reflects Ellard. “It was just done how it should have been done. Good songs, simple production, really good fun. And we rediscovered that buzz between the three of us.”
Only once they had a bunch of songs with which they were happy – and that includes Christmas In The Air (Tonight), a seasonal smash-in-waiting – did they think about which record label might release it. Presented with an album that was completely done and dusted, right down to the artwork, East West jumped at the chance to partner with the band.
“On Still Thinking About You, we’ve embraced what people love about this band,” concludes Stride, “and we’ve made the ultimate Scouting For Girls record.”
