Nicole Scherzinger is under fire after claiming credit for the success of the Pussycat Dolls.

The 34-year-old singer stated in a recent television interview on VH1’s Behind the Music that she sang “95 per cent” of the girl group’s songs on her own.

And former bandmate Kaya Jones isn’t taking to the remarks too kindly.

"There was a lot more going on behind the scenes,” Kaya told TMZ.

The blonde left the group in 2006 after spending three years performing with Nicole.

Shortly thereafter, Melody Thornton, Ashley Roberts, Kimberly Wyatt and Jessica Sutta saw mainstream success with Nicole on their debut album PCD.

Kaya remembers the frontwoman as a ruthless diva.

“Nicole was always someone who wanted to be in the spotlight and would do pretty much anything to get it,” she said.

“To call the other girls in the Pussycat Dolls 'window dressings' is a bit farfetched… every girl in the group was talented.”

The Pussycat Dolls have been on hiatus since 2010.
