Russell Crowe says Prince performed the best live show this year.
The actor has made no secret of his admiration for the music legend. Russell was clearly impressed by Prince’s 21-date residency in Los Angeles, which began in April. The star took to his Twitter account to discuss his favourite musical events of the past 12 months and was full of praise for Prince.
“Best gig of the year PRINCE at the LA Forum.If you have the chance to see him you should, he is on fire,hasn't lost a step,genius,showman (sic),” Russell wrote.
During his stint at the Los Angeles Forum, Prince thrilled the crowds by playing a 15-minute rendition of his hit Purple Rain. Russell wasn’t the only famous face to see him in action – Eva Longoria and Javier Bardem were also spotted in the audience during his residency.
Russell is a keen musician himself. He has performed lead vocals and guitar with several different bands.
As well as gushing over Prince, Russell has also been discussing his other favourite acts.
“Musical revelations for the year Skylar Grey and Frank Turner, still loving Miike Snow,waiting for the world to catch up (sic),” he Tweeted.
