L’album di Roger Waters AMUSED TO DEATH torna con un remaster pubblicato da Columbia Records / Legacy Recordings il 24 luglio. All’epoca della sua prima uscita Amused to Death lanciò l'allarme di una società sempre più - inconsapevolmente - in balia dei suoi schermi televisivi. Ventitré anni dopo, Amused to Death parla al nostro presente con toni che non imprevedibili due decenni fa.

“I’m remembering the record from [over] 20 years ago, that most of what I had to say then sadly still pertains today and is maybe even more relevant to our predicament as people in 2015 even than it was in 1992,” dice Roger Waters.
Amused to Death è uno sguardo lucidissimo su una società ossessionata dall’intrattenimento. Un album che affronta questioni che non hanno fatto altro che crescere in termini di complessità e urgenza nel corso degli ultimi due decenni. L’edizione 2015 di Amused to Death è un nuovo remix surround 5.1 dell'album in alta definizione su Blu-ray audio e c’è anche un nuovo stereo mix rimasterizzato da un collaboratore e co-produttore di lunga data di Roger Waters e dei Pink Floyd: James Guthrie. La copertina e l’artwork nuovi sono a cura di Sean Evans, direttore creativo del tour 2010-2013 di Waters '"The Wall Live" e del film.
Prodotto da Roger Waters e Patrick Leonard, Amused to Death vede la collaborazione di musicisti del calibro di Jeff Beck, Don Henley (“It’s a Miracle”), Rita Coolidge (“Amused to Death”), P.P. Arnold (“Perfect Sense” Parti I e II), Andy Fairweather Low, Graham Broad, Luis Conte e Pat Leonard. L'album riunisce Waters con il compositore / arrangiatore Michael Kamen, che ha supervisionato gli arrangiamenti orchestrali per The Wall, concept album semi-autobiografico di Waters con i Pink Floyd. Kamen ha arrangiato e diretto il contributo della National Philharmonic Orchestra Limited, ovvero i brani “Too Much Rope” e “What God Wants, Part III.”
