ROCK OF AGES THE MUSICAL, the award-winning hit musical that has taken the UK by storm is now rocking up for the start of it’s 2nd year in London with exciting new cast members taking to the stage.

Producers can now announce the new rockin’ names to take over from Justin Lee Collins and Shayne Ward as they hung up their wigs and guitars one last time. Their appearance as Dennis Dupree and Stacee Jaxx respectively was on Sunday evening.

Joining the remaining cast members will be fantastic Ross Hunter (My Fair Lady, Legally Blonde, We Will Rock You) as Drew, the city boy following his dreams of being a rock star with the help of hippie bar owner Dennis Dupree - played by Daniel Fletcher (Blues Brothers, Fame, We Will Rock You).

Taking on the role of the maverick rock god Stacee Jaxx will be former star of Tonight’s The Night and singer with Mike & The Mechanics, Tim Howar.

ROCK OF AGES THE MUSICAL has become an established hit in the West End with celebrities and critics alike dusting down their leather, back-combing their hair and waving their lighters in the air to ‘London’s Greatest Guilty Pleasure!” In the past few months, the cast has been cheered on by diverse celebrity fans from Britney Spears, Adam Garcia, Kimberley Wyatt and Martin Kemp to Saxon’s Biff Byford, Cilla Black, Gloria Hunniford and Jeremy Clarkson.

Most recently, rock royalty Alice Cooper surprised fans by storming onto the stage at the end of the show to perform his 40-year old classic hit ‘School’s Out’ with the house band. Alice then hung around backstage to have photos taken with the cast. After the show, Alice said: "Rock Of Ages is very nostalgic for me because it is set on the strip where I used to hang out in LA. I mean, I was president of “The Hollywood Vampires”, which was a drinking club that used to meet at The Rainbow. The Vampires were comprised of guys like Keith Moon, John Lennon, Jim Morrison, Harry Nilsson, and Micky Dolenz. These are the guys that I wish I could somehow resurrect - and we were sort of like older brothers for bands playing on the strip in the 80‘s, when Rock Of Ages takes place. So when Rock Of Ages London asked me to do “School’s Out” for the 40th anniversary of the song with them... well it was sort of like Dracula being asked to the set of Twilight. But it was really a great experience to join them, and they definitely do the songs of that era true justice."

ROCK OF AGES is the ultimate hit musical, a rip-roaring, hilarious story of hedonism, dreams, love and of course ROCK! So popular, it has played to audiences in New York, Toronto, Melbourne and London confirming that the whole world is still rocking out to the songs of the 80s!
