Robert Fripp says that is professional life has been almost totally devoid of joy.

Fripp talked with Uncut magazine, telling them that, although there have been some highlights, his professional life has been a bit of a downer.

"My professional life has been so devoid of joy. Satisfaction – yes. Bits of nice happiness on the way – yes. An education – constantly. But a joyful undertaking? No. I haven’t actually enjoyed touring to date."

He does, however, think that all of those feelings might be about to change. Fripp is thrilled with his latest incarnation of King Crimson, saying "It’s the first Crimson where I don’t sense any animosity or resentment from at least one member. This is a group from the get-go; the money is divided equally."

Known in some quarters as "Line-Up 8", this version of Crimson includes:

Robert Fripp - Guitar, keyboards
Mel Collins - Saxophone, flute
Tony Levin - Bass
Pat Mastelotto - Drums and percussion
Gavin Harrison - Drums
Jakko Jakszyk - Lead vocals, guitar, flute
Bill Rieflin - Drums, keyboards, vocals

Over the years, over twenty different musicians have passed through the ranks of King Crimson including Greg Lake, Peter Sinfield, Boz Burrell, Bill Bruford, John Wetton, David Cross and Adrian Belew.

Plans are currently coming together for a tour of the U.K. in 2015 and Fripp and Jakszyk have said on their Facebook page that they are "mapping out ideas for three new pieces."
