Ray J reportedly stated that he “never did any illegal drugs” with Whitney Houston.

The 31-year-old R&B singer dated the Bodyguard star on and off for several years and spent time with her in the days before her death on February 11.

Authorities released Whitney’s toxicology results yesterday, revealing that her official cause of death was accidental drowning spurred on by chronic cocaine use that lead to heart disease.

The amount of cocaine found in the singer’s blood made it unequivocally clear that Whitney used the substance moments before her death.

Ray apparently contends that he never once used cocaine or any other illicit narcotics with Whitney.

“Ray says that he never did any illegal drugs with Whitney, no cocaine, no marijuana, period,” a source told Radar Online.

“Ray doesn't do drugs. He wasn't with Whitney at all on the day she died, he didn't see her, he was never at the hotel that day. He spoke with Whitney on the phone several times throughout the day and they exchanged text messages, but he didn't see her at all in person, period. Ray was going to accompany Whitney to Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party, and he was planning on arriving at around 5.30 p.m. that night to take her to the party.”

Ray did partake in liquor with Whitney from time to time.

“They definitely went out on the town and Ray would drink alcohol with Whitney,” the source explained. “Ray would never get drunk though as he isn't a heavy drinker.”

Earlier this week Ray was accused of being in possession of sexually explicit photos and videos of Whitney, which he vehemently denied.

Law enforcement are continuing to investigate cocaine use in relation to the late singer’s demise.

“It's still an open investigation for us," Beverly Hills Police Department Lieutenant Mark Rosen told People magazine. “I can’t disclose any details about the investigation.”
