There is new music coming from Tom Waits. Seven years after his last release, iTunes has put up a preorder for a song called Bad as Me. Whether a new album is also coming is unknown; however, an announcement was posted today on his website:
There have been rumblings and rumors. New music from Tom Waits, you say? Come to TomWaits.com on Tuesday August 23rd, and Mr. Waits himself will set the record straight.


The Grand Ole Opry is throwing an 80th birthday party for George Jones at September 13th's Tuesday Night Opry. On the schedule for the night are John Michael Montgomery, Alan Jackson, Joe Diffie, Pam Tillis, the Oak Ridge Boys, Jamey Johnson, Blackberry Smoke and Eric Lee Beddingfield.


Cher has revealed on Twitter that her collaboration with Lady Gaga, The Greatest Thing, will be released in September.


The website for the upcoming album by Lou Reed and Metallica is up at www.loureedmetallica.com but, at this point, it is only a "coming soon" page.


The California Supreme Court said on Wednesday that it will not hear an appeal of Phil Spector's murder conviction.


Modern pop artist Katy Perry has tied Michael Jackson's record for the most number 1 singles off of a single album. Jackson did it with Bad (I Just Can't Stop Loving You, Bad, The Way You Make Me Feel, Man in the Mirror and Dirty Diana). Perry has done it with her album Teenage Dream (California Gurls, Teenage Dream, Firework, E.T. and Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)).
