The Rolling Stones are preparing to release a deluxe version of Some Girls, formatting it in a similar way to their hit release of Exile on Main Street.
Mick Jagger told Spinner, "I just finished off doing all the outtakes for the Some Girls album we're releasing at Thanksgiving. We did Exile, we did a lot of different takes, a lot of different cuts that hadn't come out before, so we're doing the similar kind of thing with Some Girls, so I've just been doing them because a lot of them weren't complete, so I had to complete them, and then we're gonna mix those and put them out for Thanksgiving."

A new version of the 1976 movie Sparkle is going into production next month with Jordin Sparks in the title role that was originally done by Irene Cara and, if talks prove successful, Whitney Houston as her mother. Also signed is Mike Epps as the husband of one of Sparkle's sisters, originally played by Phillip Michael Thomas.

Brian May told the U.K.'s Daily Mail that the combination of the death of Freddie Mercury and his own father lead him to thoughts of suicide. "We lost Freddie and my dad died at almost the same time. I didn't want to live. I'd lost myself completely. I coasted along and got by somehow, but I couldn't get myself into gear. So I had to go into this place where I was isolated and removed from my life. Gradually, the suicidal feelings went away."

Don Williams will receive the ASCAP Golden Note Award at the organizations 49th Annual Country Music Awards on November 6. The award is given to those songwriters, composers and artists who have had extraordinary career milestones.
ASCAP President Paul Williams said "Don is one of country music's most successful performers of the past four decades. His knack for finding songs that speak directly to people's hearts has earned him millions of fans worldwide. He is a true international country music star, and we are very proud to honor him with ASCAP's Golden Note Award in recognition of his extraordinary career."
Williams has had 45 top ten hits and 17 number 1 country singles in his career.

Megadeth WILL be playing Wednesday night at the Big Four concert in New York's Yankee Stadium with Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax. Statements had been made that lead singer Dave Mustaine had a shoulder injury but bassist David Ellefson later released a video saying that they would perform.

Jeff Beck will receive this year's Living Legend Award at the Classic Rock Roll of Honour Awards. The presentation will be made at London's Roundhouse on November 9.

Victor Tallarico, the father of Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, passed away on Saturday in Nashua, NH at the age of 95.
