The Transport of London, the group that oversees the London subways, have banned the ad for the upcoming Lou Reed and Metallica album Lulu, saying that it looks too much like standard street graffiti.
Reed commented to Rolling Stone "What would Andy Warhol or Jean Michel Basquiat say of this type of frivolous censorship?"


The LA Unified School Board voted on Tuesday to rename the Valley Region Elementary School No. 12 in the San Fernando Valley as the Carlos Santana Arts Academy. The board made their decision not only on Santana's long career but also for his Milagro Foundation which helps provide health care and education for children.


Former Eagles member Don Felder played for the United Nations' General Assembly on Tuesday. He is currently working on a new solo album to be produced Robin DeMaggio.


Russell Simmons said at a charity event in Hong Kong that he is looking to buy a television network to which he can bring his vision of a truly diverse media outlet.
Simmons stated that when today's networks "say diversity they mean segregation. 'Let's do some more black TV.' Instead, there's all these cultures that should be more integrated properly. Networks are a little show in how mainstream culture is shifting. There's a lack of integration in Hollywood, and I want to address that."


Six years ago yesterday, J.D. Fortune became the lead singer of INXS when he won the competition program Rock Star: INXS. Now, for the second time, he has been fired from the group. His first stint ended in February of 2009 and he rejoined the group last year, but INXS has just posted a new song on their website with someone else on lead.
Fortune wrote on Twitter "As of now I have not been invited to be a part of INXS's new music."


Britain's Time Out polled a large group of industry people on the greatest comedy film of all time and they voted for This is Spinal Tap. The film bested Airplane!, Monty Python's Meaning of Life, Annie Hall and Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
