The 44th episode of Daryl Hall's Live at Daryl's House will feature soul great Booker T. Jones. Jones was also part of the last episode, which featured new soul singer Mayer Hawthorne, but this time around he is the full focus of the show.
"One of the nicest things about performing on Live from Daryl's House is that Daryl has surrounded himself with musicians who can 'hear,’" enthused Booker T. "That is, each one has talent to the extent of being capable of performing as a soloist on his own, not needing to be told the proper notes to sing or play."


Leslie West told Billboard his reaction to his recent leg amputation. "I cried a couple fuckin' times. I look down -- 'Where is it?!' You still feel the nerves and stuff like that. I had to make a decision -- lose my leg or lose my life. What are you gonna do? But I'll tell you, it's a good thing it wasn't one of my arms. Then I'd be really fucked."
West is currently in a rehab facility learning to reattain balance and work electric wheelchairs. He is looking forward to the August 13 release of his new album Unusual Suspects which he wants to tour behind.


The Paley Center for Media and the Museum of the Moving Image are collaborating on a presentation of The Films of Frank Sinatra from August 12 to September 4. Included in the program are showings of On the Town, From Here to Eternity, Suddenly, Pal Joey, The Man With the Golden Arm, High Society, The Manchurian Candidate, Some Came Running, Guys & Dolls, Robin & the Seven Hoods, Ocean's Eleven and Von Ryan's Express.


Bette Midler was reportedly forced to drop out of the HBO Phil Spector biopic due to "doctor's orders" with a reported herniated disc. The production has shut down while the part is recast. David Mamet wrote and is directing the film with Al Pacino playing Spector.
