Randy Gane, keyboard player for Geoff Tate's version of Queensryche, is recovering from a heart attack, which he suffered on December 26. His condition is currently unknown.

53-year old Gane is part of Geoff Tate's new version of Queensryche. Singer Geoff Tate was fired from the band in June, 2012. He claimed he was wrongfully terminated from the group and filed a lawsuit. The judge then decided that both Tate and Queensyche could use the name. In September, Tate formed his own version of Queensryche with Randy Gane on keyboards, who he had played with in Myth in the early 80s.

Tate announced, 'With this new project, with these new people, it's a whole new scene. There are new ideas, different musical backgrounds and a whole new set of parameters. Everyone has ideas you haven't heard before, and everyone is throwing them against the wall and suddenly . the music has a whole new life'.

Tate's Queensryche is planning to perform the 'Operation: Mindcrime' album on tour from April 2013 to mark the 25th anniversary of the release of the album.
