Punchline comedy nights have been taking Edinburgh by storm for many reasons. Firstly, it is housed in the magnificent and elegant Usher Hall, and secondly, it’s a re-visit to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the middle of March. Above all though, Punchline is the best night of comedy in town because of the intricately brilliant comedians that perform.

So far Punchline has thrust the spotlight on to Seann Walsh, Josh Widdicombe, Frankie Boyle, Nick Helm, Andrew Lawrence, Roisin Conaty and more, and now the line-up for the next showcase on 8th March has been announced. Gracing the stage for an evening of giggles will be John Hastings, David Trent, Charlie Baker and Pappy’s.

Canadian John Hastings has been a comedic artist since 2006, and is a welcomed guest to the line-up, with observational story telling jokes and sharp punchlines. David Trent was one of last year’s Edinburgh Comedy Award Newcomer nominees, and will be bringing something different to the evening with a combination of music, video and animation. Charlie Baker needs no build up, surely; his appearance on various comedy panel shows and winning performance on Let’s Dance for Comic Relief 2011, sums up everything you need to know.

Headlining the night will be Pappy’s, one of the hottest tickets on the Edinburgh Fringe last year. With three hilarious members (who separately have many achievements), Pappy’s will play silly and create sketches that mark a unique spin in amongst the usual stand-up comedians. This is their fourth national tour, and is set to be another five-star show.

Tickets are priced at £18, and are available from the website http://www.punchline-comedy.com.
