Katy Perry is turning 30 in October, and can’t wait for her birthday.

The singer is currently touring the US as part of her Prismatic tour, and claims to still feel like a teenager.

According to Katy, birthdays are always an excuse for a giant blowout.

"I still feel 13 on the inside," she told People Magazine. "Birthdays are a big thing for me. We always have a themed party. It's a good excuse for me to bring my friends together and go buck wild."

The Prismatic tour will run through into next March, with Australia and Europe on the agenda. Katy admits that it’s hard work, but is incredibly proud of album Prism and what it represents.

"It's taking all my energy," she said. "A lot of times I write these songs because I need to reinspire myself. When I was writing 'Roar,' I was like, 'I need to find my voice again. I need to be heard. I need to find that empowering thunder in my chest again.'"

One thing Katy insists upon is that no matter what happens, she will stay down-to-earth and put her music first. The singer wants to always have something to aspire to in her career and to make sure to stay humble.

"I just want to be able to continue to stay self-aware and as unaffected as possible," she said. "I just want to stay authentic and keep dreaming my dreams."
