Last night on the Late Late Show with James Corden, the host and guest Paula Abdul put together on update of the classic video for Paula’s hit Opposites Attract.

Opposites Attract was one of the most creative videos to come out of the original music video revolution with its mix of Abdul’s live performance intermixed flawlessly with a cartoon cat voiced by “MC Skat Cat” who was actually The Wild Pair (Bruce DeShazer and Marv Gunn).

Based on the dance by Gene Kelly and Tom the Mouse in the movie Anchors Away, Abdul choreographed both her dancing and the animated cat which was drawn by members of the Disney animation team under the direction of Chris Bailey.

In the Late Late Show performance, Abdul and Corden didn’t recreate the video, per se, but kept the look and feel of the original with new dance moves and props.
