Noel Gallagher's daughter, Anais, is upset he turned down the opportunity to be a judge on 'The X Factor'.
Noel Gallagher's daughter is upset he didn't want to be a judge on 'The X Factor'.
The 'AKA... What A Life!' singer was approached about a role on the talent search show, and his 12-year-old daughter, Anais, thinks he would have done a better job than current head judge Gary Barlow.
Anais - Noel's daughter with his ex-wife Meg Matthews - told The Sunday Times Magazine: "When he was called up to be a judge on 'X Factor' last year, me and my [half] brother couldn't believe it when he said no.
"I was like, 'Why didn't you say yes dad?' I thought he'd be good as a judge. Gary Barlow is good, but dad would have been better."
Former Oasis guitarist Noel - who has two sons, Donovan, four, and Sonny, 23 months with his current wife, Sara MacDonald - told last year how he had been personally called by 'The X Factor' mogul Simon Cowell, who offered him the role as head judge, but he couldn't see how his personality would fit with the show.
Noel explained how Simon told him: "We're rebranding the show and we need an Alpha Male."
After responding he didn't understand where he would fit in, Noel added: "He said 'For the whole show', and I was like 'No, no', and he was going 'No, no, no, it'll be great', and I was saying 'You mean kids round at my house? In my kitchen?"
Noel added he couldn't see himself delivering lines such as: "You know I can only take three into the final, and this is the toughest decision I've ever had to make. I left Oasis, but that was nothing to compared to this."
Later he said he would have accepted the job, but only if they had offered to pay him a million pounds.
