Noel Gallagher "didn't like" his collaborative psychedelic album, recorded with dance duo Amorphus Androgynous.

Noel Gallagher "didn't like" his psychedelic album.

The 'A.K.A... What a Life!' hitmaker planned two records for 2011 - debut solo record 'Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds' and a psychedelic collaboration with dance duo Amorphus Androgynous - but the latter never appeared as he didn't like the direction it was going.

He told The Sun newspaper: "I nearly killed them. I remember saying, 'The last time I played a guitar this long was over three nights at Wembley.' When I got the record off them I was like, 'OK, I don't like it'."

Noel previously worked with Amorphous Androgynous - producers Garry Cobain and Brian Dougans - on a 22-minute psychedelic remix of his former band Oasis' track 'Falling Down', from their final album 2008's 'Dig Out Your Soul'.

Meanwhile Noel is planning to take some time off from recording and touring with High Flying Birds next year, because he doesn't want to get burned out like Oasis did.

He said: " I'm taking a well earned break after this. Why mess with brilliance? I'd only f**k it up."

Referring to the band's classic second album and their third - which was largely panned by critics - he added: "Look what it did to the aftermath of '(What's The Story) Morning Glory?' S**t on it! 'Be Here Now'?"'

Noel has previously blasted the band's efforts on 'Be Here Now', describing the record as "the sound of a bunch of guys, on coke, in the studio, not giving a f**k."
