Nikki Sixx to hit Broadway with 'Heroin Diaries' stage show

Nikki Sixx is to bring his notorious autobiography The Heroin Diaries to Broadway.

The Motley Crue bassist is clearly taking note of the success Green Day had with their Broadway hit 'American Idiot'.

The book, first published in 2007, features a year's worth of diary entries from the late 1980s, which culminate in Sixx's near fatal overdose from heroin.

Sixx tweeted: "Ive been getting asked this a lot lately…The answer is: Yes,"The Heroin Diaries" book is being turned into a Broadway play."

He coninued: "More news to follow in the next few months....Were getting pretty far down the road...We hope for a late 2013 or early 2014 for it to open…"
