Nicki Minaj: My songs need swearing

Nicki Minaj says swearing is just part of the “feel” of her songs.

The singer-and-rapper is well known for using dirty words in her tracks. She thinks people get too uptight about them, insisting sometimes only a profanity will do.

“No! I mean it’s part of the feel sometimes. Not that everything has to be a cuss word, but…” she laughed.

The star was also asked about her album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded and what it says about women today. She is in no doubt that it sends out a positive message about females and what they have achieved over recent years.

“That women were very ballsy,” she told Q magazine, when asked what someone who had no knowledge of her or her work would make of her inspirations.

“That women were not playing second fiddle to men. That women were very humorous. And that women liked to party.”
