Nick Jonas thinks people should embrace romantic rejection.

The singer-and-actor doesn’t struggle in the love department and is currently dating Miss Universe Olivia Culpo.

While he’s all for taking the lead and asking a girl out, he doesn’t mind when the tables are turned – and urges people not to be afraid of making the first move.

“Don’t make a big deal out of it,” he advised the UK edition of Cosmopolitan.

“Think of a fun date – I’m going to say bowling – and just say, ‘Hey, fancy a game some time?’ I like confident women. Don’t be afraid of rejection, because it really isn’t that bad.”

The 22-year-old is all about having fun on a first date and revealed he would choose tapas and bowling for the initial meet-up. However, he pushed the boat out further when he romanced Olivia, also 22.

“I had a chef make a delicious salmon dinner and we ate it on the rooftop of my apartment in New York,” he smiled. “It was really special. And lucky, because the only thing I can make is a bowl of cereal. Olivia is a great cook, though, so it worked out.”

Nick started off in band Jonas Brothers with siblings Kevin and Joe. They are happy to help each other out with girl advice and often remind the others not to overthink things and keep it simple.

The star has perfected the art of playing it cool now and even shared his rule for post-date texting.

“Here’s my tactic: at the end of the date I say, ‘Send me a text so I know you got home safely.’ I’ll reply but keep it short, then wait a day to start a proper conversation. It’s all about timing,” he grinned.
