EN Music - Nick Cannon does not want Mariah Carey “putting bad thoughts” in their kids’ heads, it is claimed.
The 33-year-old and his estranged wife Mariah Carey, 44, share three-year-old twins. The America’s Got Talent host is apparently concerned over what his children will think in the midst of the couple’s separation.
“Whatever is going on in their relationship is between them – Nick is adamant that he does not want the kids to think they’re the issue nor does he want Mariah putting bad thoughts about their father in their head,” a source told HollywoodLife.
Nick admitted during an interview on Yahoo’s The Insider last week he and the singer have been living apart for months, adding “there’s trouble in paradise”. Mariah was apparently upset over his comments as his reveal was “not what they had agreed on and not classy”, an insider told E! news.
It is rumoured Nick left the singer after six years of marriage and he is reportedly concerned about twins Moroccan and Monroe being in a “toxic” environment, according to TMZ.
“The time will come when they will both explain to the twins what’s going on, why dad’s not around 24-7 and things like that,” the source explained to HollywoodLife. “All they know now is that he’s working and has to travel a lot. That was the explanation Nick said he and MiMi both gave them when he first moved out.”
Recent reports suggest the separated couple aren’t on the best terms.
