Neil Young & Crazy Horse take 'She'll Be Comin' Round the Mountain' back to it's roots (and into the future)

Something old, something new...

Neil Young and Crazy Horse are doing a little of both on their new album Americana, out June 5 on Reprise. The album is filled with mostly-traditional American songs updated with a new sound.

For their take on She'll Be Comin' Round the Mountain, they've gone back to the song's roots as an African American spiritual that talks of the second coming of Jesus and the Rapture (the "she" refers to the chariot on which Jesus arrives). They've also updated it with a rocked out sound and set it to film from D.W. Griffith's 1915 film Birth of a Nation in the video below.
