Writers:
Lyricist: Stephen Baldacchino
Composer: Minik

Your favourite international singer and song?:
There are a lot of singers that I admire and whose songs I really like, but I must say that my favourite is Emma Marrone, and my favourite song is Non E’ L’Inferno, sung by this same artist.

Your favourite local singer and song?
Favourite Local Band: Airport Impressions
Favourite Song: Berlin

How long have you been involved in music?:
I started playing the piano when I was 6, then in my teens I shifted to singing. So I must say I started at a very young age.

What are your goals in music ? :
My dream was to go abroad and study Musical Theatre, however priorities change, and so my present goals are to take part in further competitions, even bigger ones and improve my singing career.

Do you have a standard routine before performing?:
After doing some voice warm up which is quite essential, I usually gather my team and say a prayer. Once that is done, I try to relax and enjoy the competition before butterflies take over.

Name another Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza Finalist you admire?:
I love Josef Tabone’s voice. He is such a versatile artist. He knows this as well because I’ve told him a couple of times that he has an amazing talent.

What’s your opinion regarding the music industry in Malta? :
I believe that it is getting better. Over the past year I’ve realised that most festival and event organisers are presenting more opportunities to local bands, singers and musicians to participate and share their talent with locals. We have seen artists such as WinterMoods and Ira Losco perform in front of a huge number of locals who appreciate their music; and that makes me feel very proud of this little island’s talent. However I still believe that some competitions need to be improved and fairer.

Do you believe in collaborations? Who would you duet with?
Yes, I do believe in collaborations. Sharing talents might actually turn up in a very good product. Last year I had a duet with Josef Tabone, which also strengthens my belief in collaborations; and if I had to duet with someone, I would definitely choose him again.

How would you celebrate if you win Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2014?:
I have absolutely no idea!!! Most probably I would offer a drink (or two) to my team and friends. Then I would go and eat somewhere, coz I’m sure I would be hungry by the time results come out.

Your Message to Music News Malta followers?:
PLAY the moments,
PAUSE the memories,
STOP the pain,
REWIND the happiness.
