Kerrang! are pleased to announce the contenders of rock’n’roll royalty in the nominations for the Relentless Kerrang! Awards 2015.

London’s iconic Troxy will play host on Thursday 11 June 2015 to the rock’n’roll mayhem, which will be hosted by none other than Andrew W.K. and Skindred’s Benji Webbe. To add to the excitement, tickets for the event have been made available to the public for the first time, allowing Kerrang! fans to be part of the most badass awards ceremony in town.

Muse are nominated for Best British Band after their spontaneous live return this year caused a huge commotion, giving just one week’s notice for their intimate live dates. Enter Shikari join the list after their latest album of politically charged electronic rock, The Mindsweep, shot into the Top 10 in the UK Albums Chart. Previous winners You Me At Six are also nominated.

It’s been an incredible year for Royal Blood – whose Number One self-titled album was verified as the fastest-selling British rock debut album in the UK in three years, and are now picking up a nomination for Best British Newcomer. Marmozets, Mallory Knox and Lonely The Brave all receive nominations across the board, too; each of whom have had significant mainstream success flying the flag for British rock.

Never to be outdone by new talent, AC/DC are out in force with their nomination for Best International Act, alongside Slipknot, Fall Out Boy, All Time Low and Sleeping With Sirens.

After an astonishing year, UK Albums Chart-toppers All Time Low have racked up an impressive four nominations; Best Single, Best International Band, Best Fanbase and Best Event (which they share with UK pop-rockers You Me At Six for their joint arena tour earlier this year).

The Best Event category is hotly contested, with Foo Fighters nominated for their secret intimate The Holy Shits shows, which saw the stadium act pack fans into two clubs in London and Brighton. Though this will be challenged by the insane masked metallers Slipknot, who, along with Korn and King 810, took their explosive (literally) arena spectacular around the UK with more pyro than you could shake a baseball bat at!

It’s a transatlantic showdown for Best Single, with U.S. acts outnumbered by British talent. Sheffield’s metal heroes Bring Me The Horizon are nominated alongside Enter Shikari and Young Guns – who have been busy taking the U.S. by storm. In the American corner we have chart-stormers Fall Out Boy alongside their younger peers All Time Low.

From homegrown talent to international rockstars, zombie-fuelled madness and fans in the room for the first time, this year’s Relentless Kerrang! Awards will surely be the most entertaining yet. Voting starts in this week’s Kerrang! magazine and on the website, Awards.kerrang.com. Voting closes Thursday 4 June.

Sponsors for the Relentless Kerrang! Awards include Troxy, Kerrang! TV, Kerrang! Radio and, of course, Relentless Energy Drink. Jack Daniel’s is the official whisky partner.

Kerrang! Editor James McMahon says, "I am massively excited about 2015's iteration of Kerrang!'s yearly celebration of all that's rocked – mainly because there's going to be actual zombies there! Not so much The Walking Dead as The Walking Shred, and what other awards ceremony can you say that about? I am currently advising everyone attending to bring a baseball bat, a golf club, or something else to protect their brains from the ghoulish, but that's enough about Marilyn Manson…

"The thing is, it's been an absolutely amazing year for rock – the diversity of the nominations, I believe, is testament to that. We've got breakthrough bands. We've got women in bands where often (embarrassingly) there has been none. We've got weirdo, outsider bands. We've got stadium-filling bands. It's proof that rock is still the music of the masses, the passionate and the brave. Rock is still the most exciting thing you can put in your ears. If the zombies haven't bitten them off, that is…"
