Miley Cyrus is reportedly "obsessed" with outdoing Lady Gaga.
The 21-year-old singer has constantly shocked with her antics and outfits over the last year, such as stepping out wearing ice-cream nipple tassels, marijuana style earrings and pill-adorned shades earlier this month.
These are just some of the ways in which Miley is said to be trying to top the Edge of Glory songstress, who has won many awards since breaking out in 2008 including five Grammys.
"Miley constantly wants to surprise people and craves attention. She sees Lady Gaga as the only artist who manages to keep shocking people and has become obsessed with outdoing her," a source told British magazine Closer.
One way in which Miley is said to be working towards achieving this is by hiring the help of those who have given Gaga her kooky reputation. The Wrecking Ball singer's apparent copying of the musician's daring looks is thought to have begun last year, when Miley posed for iconic photographer Terry Richardson in a crotch-revealing shot resembling one he took of Gaga.
"She's hired Gaga's former stylist to make it a reality and wants to become a new, and even crazier, version of Gaga. She's determined to be even more famous than her," the insider added.
The blonde star's behaviour has triggered other celebrities to speak out, such as Sinéad O'Connor. The outspoken musician shared her opinions on Miley last year, writing the former Disney actress open letters about how she has let herself be "pimped" out by the music industry.
Earlier this month Sinéad spoke out again about how females in the spotlight have changed.
"It's hilarious and cleverly done, they're made to think if you get your t*ts out, you're a maverick," Sinéad laughed to Q magazine. "Bulls**t, obviously. I think people's reasons for making music have changed."
