Miley Cyrus and Patrick Schwarzenegger’s relationship works because “opposites attract”.
The 22-year-old singer raised eyebrows when she started dating the 21-year-old son of actor-and-politician Arnold and journalist Maria Shriver earlier this year.
But now their close friend Cody Simpson has opened up about their romance, admitting it’s their contrasting personalities which makes them such a perfect match.
“I think that's what's cool,” Cody told E! News. “I think opposites attract.”
Cody spent some time with Miley and Patrick during their recent trip to Art Basel in Miami.
And the singer admits it’s seeing Miley and Patrick just enjoying time together with friends that made him realise just how perfect they are together.
"We met up in Miami for Art Basel and we all just met up down there," he said.
"Coincidentally, we were all going to Nashville at the same time, so we all flew to Nashville together and chilled on a nice ranch out there, ride around on quads and have nice campfires and it was fun couple days."
Despite Cody’s comments, it was reported recently that Patrick found Miley’s raunchy party for her 22nd birthday “awkward”.
Cody was also on hand to celebrate with Miley at the bash, which included a penis-shaped rodeo ride and the birthday girl going topless at one point.
"She really let loose at her birthday party and it didn't go down well," an insider claimed to British magazine Star.
"Patrick is naturally a lot more shy than Miley and he looked really awkward throughout the evening. He was embarrassed by her behaviour. She might have toned things down a bit since meeting him, but she can still be pretty wild. By the end, he seemed pretty bored by it all."
