Miley Cyrus’ home burglars have reportedly been sentenced.
Tylor Scott and Naomi Charles were arrested in June after breaking into the singer’s house in May, leaving the premises with a $100,000 Maserati vehicle and a sizable amount of expensive jewellery.
And according to TMZ, both Scott and Charles entered guilty pleas to one count of felony residential burglary and they will both be serving time in jail as a result.
The outlet reports Scott also pled guilty to felony grand theft.
Scott was sentenced to five years in prison because he had a previous record and apparently the judge came down hard on him for having a gun while burglarising Cyrus’ home. Charles received a more light punishment of one year in county jail due to her lack of criminal behaviour before this incident.
The thieving couple were initially accused of climbing the fence of Cyrus’ Los Angeles home and driving off in her $100,000 car while she was away performing the European leg of her Bangerz concert tour.
Cyrus’ Maserati was retrieved by police in Simi Valley, California, a suburb north of Los Angeles a few days after the robbery took place. Sources told TMZ at the time a citizen spotted the car parked on a quiet street and phoned police immediately.
Scott and Charles were apprehended by authorities on Thursday June 5 in North Hollywood, less than a week after the crime was committed. Apparently they were captured after police recognised their images on surveillance video.
Cyrus has had her home burglarised twice since 2013.
