Miley Cyrus is grieving hard over her recently deceased dog Lila.
The 20-year-old singer-and-actress and her fiancé Liam Hemsworth adopted the little Yorkie into their family in 2011.
The couple are animal lovers and house several orphaned pets in their home.
Unfortunately Lila didn’t live very long under Miley and Liam’s care, as she died on Tuesday.
"For everyone asking ... I have never been so hurt in my life," Miley wrote on Twitter. "My heart has never been so broken..... Lila my sweet baby girl has passed away."
Miley’s depression was overwhelming at the news of Lila’s death.
The star confesses that she found it difficult to face the day.
"Can't think of one good reason to get out of bed today," she tweeted.
Miley didn’t reveal the exact cause of Lila’s demise, but apparently the animal was abruptly hospitalised in October to be treated for an undisclosed illness.
Miley and Liam are also parents to adopted animals Ziggy, Floyd, Mary Jane and Happy.
