Michelle Williams reportedly hasn’t stopped smiling since Destiny’s Child reformed.

The singer recently revealed she has battled moderate depression since she was a teenager. Michelle says therapy, exercise and positive thinking have helped to alleviate the condition in recent months, and insiders claim being reunited with her bandmates Beyoncé Knowles and Kelly Rowland has also given her a boost.

“Singing is the perfect therapy,” a source told British magazine Look. “The minute the microphones went live in the studio, they couldn’t stop smiling. Destiny’s Child was the medicine Michelle really needed.”

Destiny’s Child released their new compilation album Love Songs, which features a fresh track called Nuclear, this week.

It has also been rumoured that Michelle and Kelly will join Beyonce on stage when she headlines the Super Bowl halftime show tonight.

Beyoncé is thrilled to be working with her bandmates again and she has apparently been impressed by how Michelle has coped with her depression struggle.

“Bey didn’t really need to bring Destiny’s Child back together. She’s a mom now, her life with Jay-Z is crazily busy and she has all her solo commitments. But late last year, Bey was blown away by how positive Michelle seemed and she realised now was the right time to get back together,” the source added. “When Michelle spoke out about her struggle with depression, Bey was so proud of her.”

Michelle recently revealed she and her bandmates were surprised by how great they sounded together in the recording studio.

"It was a bunch of fun. It was just picking up right where we left off. Beyoncé laid hers first, then I'd go and lay another note to the bottom, and I'm like, 'Wow, this is dope,'” she explained. “I literally got goosebumps. [After hearing it,] Beyoncé sent an email like, 'Man, we sound good together!' I'm like, 'Duh, that's what we do, boo! That's what we do!'”
