Meghan Trainor thought Harry Styles would be like Justin Bieber.

The All About That Bass singer collaborated with the One Direction star on an upcoming track.

And Meghan admits that while she was “very nervous” about meeting the long-haired heartthrob, she was pleasantly surprised by his entirely normal demeanour.

“I was very nervous so I prepared a little chorus on my ukulele and I walked in and in five minutes, I felt very comfortable because he was very normal and funny and just a regular 20-year old dude…. not like the Harry Styles who everyone is in love with,” Meghan explained to MTV News.

"We finished the song in an hour or two and I love it. I was nervous 'cause I thought he'd be like a Justin Bieber, like 'he's so famous' and love himself, but he was just so normal... I immediately wasn't nervous any more."

Meghan tried for years to achieve success in the music industry before achieving worldwide fame with All About That Bass.

And Meghan added that it was the catchy track that first attracted Harry’s attention.

"It was right in the beginning when All About That Bass was getting millions of views,” Meghan said.

"He heard the song and was apparently fan and a mutual friend told me he wanted to write with me and so, I cleared my entire night that day and said I would love to write with him."

Meghan has just released her debut album Title, and has already enjoyed huge success with the record.

In fact, according to Neilsen SoundScan, Meghan has already sold nearly 195,000 copies of the album, making the biggest-selling debut for a female artist’s album in more than five years.
