Megan Fox had no idea what she was doing when she first hit the big time.

Although Megan had an established TV career she was new to the world of movies when she was cast in Michael Bay's Transformers in 2007, opposite Shia LaBeouf and Josh Duhamel.

Despite launching her to A-list status, Megan received flack for her role as Mikaela Banes. However, she shrugs off any negativity.

"In Transformers, I was a kid, I had no idea what I was doing," she mused to Harper's Bazaar Arabia.

"There was nothing for me to do [in that movie], but then I did nothing and that was my own call. I don’t take [the acting criticism] personally because in some ways I acknowledge and agree."

Since Transformers Megan has starred in a string on movies, but took a break from Hollywood to have sons Bodhi and Noah with husband Brian Austin Green.

Just because she hasn't got the longest résumé, it doesn't mean the 28-year-old gets ignored by industry heavyweights.

"But at the same time, both established comedians and Quentin Tarantino have come up to me and said, ‘I really liked Jennifer’s Body, you were really good in that.' The people whose opinions matter liked it, so I’m OK with that," she admitted.

Her sexy role in Jennifer's Body and other movies has led many to get the wrong impression of the actress.

While she regularly tops polls of the world's most beautiful women and was handpicked to star in Eminem's music video for track Love the Way You Lie, Megan reveals she's not vain at all.

"I would say most people assume that I’m not very smart or educated or earnest, because I have this image that I’m sort of narcissistic, chasing attention, and wanting people to like me. It makes me laugh because I've done plenty of interviews and when you read the article from beginning to end you can see that I'm not your typical music video model," she said.
