Madonna has reportedly been spotted "cheering" on her dancers after getting a restaurant to make them a dance floor recently.

The international superstar shocked fellow diners at New York eatery Antica Pesa, where she arrived to help celebrate one of her dancer's birthdays.

Madonna - who brought along her children Lourdes and Rocco - was dressed inconspicuously in a hat, glasses and leather gloves, but made sure all eyes were on her and her party after requesting the restaurant's staff make a dance floor for them.

“They started showcasing some of the moves from their MDNA tour,” an onlooker revealed to the New York Post. “The staff quickly moved the tables out of the way to turn the dining area into a dance floor, which got everyone clapping and cheering, including Madonna, who watched from a table.”

Hollywood actor Tom Hardy was also at the venue, and "looked as surprised as the rest of the customers," a source added.

After trying to persuade Madonna's son Rocco to join them with no luck, the dancers performed to a medley of the iconic singer's tunes including Music.

After their spontaneous set the dancers “took a bow and hugged their boss, who approved like a proud mother”.

Madonna is famed for having a good time, and annoyed neighbours with her party antics last year after celebrating putting on a spectacular show in Hyde Park, London, in July.

The songstress threw an after-party at her home in Mayfair, incensing fellow residents in the process.

“It went on until quarter past two. It was all out in the garden - it woke me up. She is a pain,” a neighbour said at the time.
