Courtney Love has denied having involvement in a film about her ex-husband Kurt Cobain.

Brett Morgen confirmed he would be directing a documentary about the late Nirvana rocker earlier this month.

He appeared to confirm Courtney’s involvement in the project in a quote to the New York Post.

“Courtney is the one that brought me into this… We’ve been trying to find the right time to put this film together and the time is now. We are going to do the movie sort of like a third-person autobiography – (as) if Kurt was around and making a film about his life,” he is quoted as saying.

A representative for the Hole frontwoman has now denied her participation in the project.

Courtney is said to be “very happy” Brett is working on the film, however.

“She thinks he’s a great director,” her spokesperson told America’s Entertainment Weekly.

Brett told the publication his previous comments were taken out of context.

Kurt Cobain battled drug addiction during his life and committed suicide in 1994. He was 27.
