Demi Lovato thinks the media “likes to blow things out of proportion.”

It was reported on Wednesday that the Heart Attack singer had been hospitalised the previous day with a lung infection. But the 22-year-old took to Twitter to allay her fans fears and set the record straight on her condition.

“Thanks for the get well messages.. The media likes to blow things out of proportion.. I'm fine!! Nothing a little chicken soup can't fix!!(sic)” she wrote.

Demi originally paid a visit to ER on Tuesday in Tarzana, California after she reportedly had trouble breathing.

TMZ claimed that doctors thought the problems to be flu-related and she was given antibiotics to treat the infection in her lungs.

“[Demi] returned home soon after her ER visit and is feeling much better today,” her rep confirmed to People magazine before the singer spoke out herself.

Thankfully for the Skyscraper singer, she is able to recover while on a break from her Demi World Tour, which begins again on April 17 in Brisbane, Australia.

Her down time has also given her the chance to spend time with her boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama. At the end of last month, Demi threw her beau a surprise 35th birthday party at a restaurant in Los Angeles where he was surrounded by friends and family, including Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher.

“They were definitely celebrating and enjoying themselves,” a source told US Weekly. “Wilmer got there later, giving his friends a chance to get there first. He was surprised!”

The couple have been dating since 2010.
