Demi Lovato is offering fans the chance to be her “BFF” for the day.
The 22-year-old pop star and philanthropist is running a campaign in support of the Tyler Clementi Foundation, named after a former student at Rutgers University whose 2010 suicide brought cyberbullying into the spotlight.
And she urged her nearly 25 million Twitter followers to enter the contest Monday while she counted down to the two-week deadline.
“Enter for a chance to be my VIP guest at the #DEMIWORLDTOUR & help @TylerClementi… #RememberTyler,” she wrote with a link sharing how followers could help.
The page revealed two lucky fans would be flown to one of the pop star’s concerts, have the chance to meet Demi and hang out with her backstage.
“I’m flying you to my next big show, putting you up in a 4-star hotel, and giving you bestie access to one of my shows,” reads an excerpt from the star on the webpage. “What's bestie access? It's better than VIP! It means we're doing everything that I do with my BFFs. We'll hang out backstage and snap a few selfies to tweet out to the world. You’ll even get hooked up with a brand new look that you’ll debut that night at my concert!” the promo continued.
Proceeds from donations, which result in contest entries, will benefit TCF.
The organisation promises to promote “safe, inclusive and respectful social environments in homes, schools, campuses, churches and the digital world for vulnerable youth, LGBT youth and their allies”, according to a spokesperson.
